Raymond Kunio Iwamoto, 98

Raymond Kunio Iwamoto, 98, of Wailuku, passed away on June 8, 2015 at Kula Hospital.

He was born in Puunene, Maui, on August 6, 1916. He served in the 100th Infantry Battalion during WWII, and received the Purple Heart, and later, the Congressional Gold Medal. He retired as the Superintendent of the County of Maui Waiehu Golf Course. He enjoyed playing golf and caring for his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Fumiko Iwamoto; daughters, Jean (Louis) Wada, Annette (Richard) Arine; grandchildren, Dr. David (MaryAnn) Wada, Steven Wada, Maren (Shaun) Chun, and Dr. Caryn Arine; great-grandchildren, Connor and Tyler Chun, Dion Vance, Devin and Vivian Wada; and sisters, Kathleen (Wallace) Harada and Sueko Ikeuchi.

Private services were held. Nakamura Mortuary assisted with the arrangements. No koden please.
