Yoshie “Rose” Okuni, 91
Yoshie “Rose” Okuni, 91, of Haiku, passed away peacefully at her home on June 18, 2015 under the care of Islands Hospice and Bayada Home Health Care.
Services are scheduled to take place at Nakamura Mortuary on Monday July 6, 2015, with visitation to begin at 10a.m. and services at 11a.m. Burial will begin at 2p.m. at Maui Memorial Park.
Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Yoshie “Rose” Okuni was born May 6, 1924, in Wailuku. She was the daughter of Kichiji & Aya Omori.
She was the owner of Okuni Service Station and Okuni Farm.
She is predeceased by her husband, Sadamu Okuni, whom she was married to until his passing in March, brother, Yutaka (Ethel) Omori, sisters, Hisayo Oda, and Florence Mieko Miyake.
She is survived by her son, Robert Kenji (Sherri) Okuni, sisters, Elaine Chiyoko Omori, Shigeko Murakami, Susan Sumie (Larry) Tahara, Mitsuko Omori Kajino, brother, Teruto (Haruko) Omori, grandson, Kai Okuni, and granddaughter, Kaylie Okuni.
