Sachiko Oda Carroll, 88

Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m. Mon, June 27 at Kahului Hongwanji Mission, with a Service at 4:30 p.m. The family requests no koden. Donations may be made to the Hawaii Opera Theatre.

Mrs. Carroll was born on Jan. 2, 1928 in Kahului, Maui. She was an Educator at Wailuku Elementary School.

She is predeceased by her husband of more than 62 years, Bill, who passed away in October 2014. Sachiko is survived by sons William Carroll of Oahu, Peter Carroll of Oahu; daughters Anne Carroll Shinzato (Mario) of Japan, Jean Carroll Young (Lou) of Makawao, Jacalyn Takakura of Wailuku; and grandchildren William Hong, Naomi Takakura, Matthew Takakura, Austin Shinzato, and Ashley Shinzato. Sachiko is also survived by brothers Charles Oda (Reiko) of Colorado, Harold Oda (Patty) of Oahu, and sister Fusako Rodrigues of California.
