Wilken Penimana Kaauamo, 83
Wilkens Penimana “Jacky-Jack” Kaauamo, 83, of Makawao, Maui passed away on July 24, 2023 while sleeping at his residence. He was born on June 2, 1940 in Hana to Samuel Kamuela Kaauamo & Mary Smith Kaauamo.
He grew up in Wailuanui working in the taro patches and was a Lahaina Lunagraduate. He was a Laborer and then a Journeyman Carpenter until he lost his father. Then he happily went back to the taro patches full time. He was an easygoing man of great humility a pleasure to know.
Wilken is survived by wife, Barbara Kaauamo; his sister, Mary Jane Pualani Kaauamo, his stepdaughter, Laurie Zaslove of Florida, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 9:00am to 10:45am; with mass at 11:00am. Cremation to follow. After the mass a celebration of life and luncheon will take place at the Pukalani Community Center.
