Lois Nottage
Lois Carpenter Nottage passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, at her beloved Kaneohe home, surrounded by her 4 children. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Peter, who remained the center of her life throughout their many decades together. She is survived by her four children: twins Lauren (Bob) and Leslie (Jim), Tad, and Carrie (Frank), along with 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was very proud of her entire family.
Lois was a life-long member of the Garden Club of Honolulu, Outrigger Canoe Club, and Kaneohe Yacht Club. Her passion for gardening led her to start her own landscaping business later in life, creating gardens in her distinctive Hawaiian style. She enjoyed tennis, sailing, traveling, Hawaiiana, and remained artistically talented with ceramics, nature crafts, and basketmaking. She was a creative inspiration.
Lois will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on in her garden designs and in the hearts of family and friends close to her.
A private celebration of life will be held in late summer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Garden Club of Honolulu (3162 Huelani Dr, Honolulu 96822), or Navian Hawaii-Hospice (860 Iwilei Rd, Honolulu 96817).
