Writer should leave ideology behind, re-read Constitution

Trump is restoring what the Constitution’s supposed to be? Chilling! The Jan. 17 letter writer displays insults, inaccuracies and for certain a blind allegiance to “that” infallible doctrine. President Ronald Reagan, a good man of the “fiscally” responsible side of the aisle, took the USA from No. 1 creditor to No. 1 debtor in the world. His dancing partner Tip O’Neil, speaker of the House and a Democrat, and “we” the people can’t escape guilt as well.

Reagan named Alan Greenspan chairman of the Federal Reserve. He remained in that position under George. H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. Greenspan, considered “a maestro” in some circles, candidly admitted in 2009 to making mistakes. Greenspan contributed to the housing bubble and the worst crash since the Great Depression. This is the burden that Obama was served with, yet the writer blames the president and calls him “boy” — virulent!

Obama, with help, avoided a depression. Unemployment went from two digits to below 5 percent, the Dow Jones from 8,000-plus to 18,000-plus! Millions of Americans became insured. Osama bin Laden was eliminated.

The fiscally responsibles blew $5 trillion on a lie (the Iraq War), so stated Republican John Kasich.

I recommend the writer read the letter titled “Ideological loyalty explains polarization in America” (Jan. 21) then leave his ideology and restrictive cubicle, and re-read and respect the Constitution. Will he apologize to all he called idiots?
