Local watermelon priced higher than Mainland
I can’t help wondering where it is in the supply chain that raises the price of a 20-pound “Hawaii grown” watermelon at a Maui supermarket to $30 when larger watermelons on the Mainland cost a tenth of that. I can understand higher prices on Maui, but 10 times higher? For something grown in Hawaii?
