Simple things candidates can do to win election

It has dawned on me that if anyone would like to win an election to any local office, these are some simple things to do:

1. Promise to raise the minimum wage to $18/hour. Increase that promise to $25/hour and you should be a shoo-in. Since nobody has given any thought to where that money would come from, you could just go to $50/hour. Guaranteed win!

2. Promise to clear the water meter list, so everyone on it gets their meter right away.

3. Provide free housing for all of the homeless, clear them off our streets.

4. Promise free education and free medical insurance for all — who cares where the money comes from. Surely the fat cats of the community will be willing to pay for it! Don’t forget to squeeze the corporations, those evil corporations!

Then everyone would be able to rent the house of their dreams. This free money will solve all of the problems of the working people of Maui.

If our politicians aren’t making these promises, then obviously they are against the working families, and shouldn’t get our votes.

First one for $100/hour gets mine!
