Candidate ‘to right the canoe’ is Elle Cochran

This is the year when the power of the feminine is rising. Rising to counter the toxic masculinity exhibited by the greedy pillaging of the Earth’s resources and her people by those ruthless ones among us.

We know who they are here: The missionary families claiming they own the land while controlling the water, agrochemical entities ruining the land. Complicit politicians and department heads of health and agriculture, selling us down the toxic creek.

Across the continent, indigenous women leaders are rising to advocate and legislate for our children, our elders, our Earth and the next seven generations. Making headway into the “good ol’ boys network” by running and getting elected, they are doing what is being called here on Maui #Huli2018. Right the canoe.

Our number one candidate “to right the canoe” is Elle Cochran for mayor. I have watched Elle over the years come into her power as a leader with a powerful voice for the people, land and waters she represents. Elle is a true public servant. She received the most votes of any local politician in the last election. She was just named best public official.

This is because Elle does what the people of the community want her to do. Protect. Legislate. Continue to be the leader who stood with us in the marches for the GMO moratorium. The only one on the council who supported our right to have a voice about the use of harmful agricultural practices, like Roundup and GMO experimentation. The only one. Elle.
