Creating a sense of belonging

Community-based collaboration within Maui Coming Home Consortium has its members volunteering their time and professional expertise. Members represent a cross-section of service providers, cultural practitioners, businesses, faith and community groups, former offenders and family members. The consortium meets monthly in Maui to bring the entire community around the issues and needs of the men, women and family returning home from incarceration.

We have been leading efforts to provide innovative and culturally responsive re-entry and reintegration services to former offenders, their families and communities. Let’s create a sense of belonging. Let us provide supportive services to help them reintegrate into their communities and become productive citizens for our state.

The consortium needs you at our Oct. 27 fundraiser at the Maui Beach Hotel. The event is from 4 to 9 p.m., with dinner and a program. For tickets or more information, call me at 281-9390 before Aug. 27.
