Letter Carriers collecting items for Maui Food Bank
The National Association of Letter Carriers, in conjunction with the National Rural Letter Carriers Association and the United States Postal Service, will conduct their 27th annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive on Saturday, May 11. Over 260,000 letter carriers in over 10,000 cities and towns across the U.S. will be holding the largest single-day food drive in America. This is a major effort to fill food banks and pantries in their communities during the summer months when many school breakfast and lunch programs are not available to children in need.
It’s simple. All Maui postal patrons should receive a blue biodegradable bag and an announcement card in their mail by this week. Just fill the bag with nonperishable food and place it by your mailbox on May 11 and your letter carrier will collect it and deliver it to the Maui Food Bank.
Mahalo for your support.
