A means for persons lost to find their way home

As stated in The Maui News article of June 2, there is an interest by the family in providing cameras for dangerous areas of the forest where Amanda Eller got lost. I would want to suggest perhaps a more cost-effective solution of placing monuments indicating where you are, and east, west, north, south placards about 200-500 feet apart at various places along trails; and fluorescent paint or high-visible yellow or orange posts, maybe even with solar powered lights, as a means for persons lost to find their way home.

Technology would need periodic maintenance, where a simple passive sign-monument might be the cost-effective answer we need. DNLR should consider this as their responsibility is managing these wild areas, while the investment in our safety is appreciated by the family.
