Another positive article on Drug Court spawns rebuttal

Allow me to shed some light on the decision-makers of those who qualify and are accepted in the popular Drug Court program designed for people with problems emanating from hard drug use such as crystal methamphetamine, commonly know as ice, and heroin.

Another positive article printed May 17 praising Drug Court graduates spawned my rebuttal.

While I agree the program itself is a good thing, there must be guidelines and restrictions for those who attend.

The crime I committed while on probation was a miniscule amount of THC detected in my urine. The amount was so small I could not be convicted, so being honest, after being questioned, I admitted smoking marijuana and showed the decision-maker my medical cannabis license due to many years of glaucoma, the number one reason for qualification.

At the time I was unfamiliar withe Drug Court procedures and was not offered the chance to attend. I was immediately sent to prison for this so-called violation. How is that for your justice system?
