Stop approving construction and expansion of hotels
The volume has risen recently about the overwhelming numbers of visitors to Maui. I can only think of one way to reduce those numbers. The County of Maui needs to quit approving the construction of new hotels and the expansion of existing ones. If there are no available rooms, fewer visitors will come.
The Maui News has reported over the last months that a new hotel has been approved near the airport; a new one in Wailea; and the expansion of an existing hotel in Kihei. Stop!
