Much on schedule for final 2019 KCA meeting
The all-volunteer team at the Kihei Community Association (www.gokihei.org) takes its responsibility seriously. For 60 years, a consistent stream of community members actively labored to better South Maui. But recreation and fun are part of a happy community, so to wrap up 2019, our final membership meeting will examine a wide range of recreational opportunities. But it is not all fun and games.
The members will elect the 2020 board of directors on Nov. 19, the third Tuesday of the odd month, to start the meeting held at St. Teresa Church at corner of Lipoa Street and South Kihei Road at 6:30 p.m..
Also, the organization has decided to bestow the KCA Wiliwili Warrior Award for 2019 to a longtime south Maui volunteer. Curious?
Then on to the recreation segment of the meeting, which is open to the public. There will be tables representing different athletic and recreation programs, sports leagues, facilities and instruction available in our community, for all ages.
Please remember the Maui Food Bank. Estimates say over 10 percent of keiki and kupuna go to bed hungry on Maui each night. No admission fee, so bring some nonperishable nutritious food donations.
Membership is not required, but encouraged, especially now when a 40 percent discount offer is in effect. See www.gokihei.org to become a member or sign up for our newsletter. More info, call (508) 499-9996. Like us on Facebook.
