Rant against complaints from part-time residents

You have to be a permanent resident on Maui to complain. Part-timers have no say and should not have the benefits of a kamaaina. Our taxes pay for the use of kamaaina benefits. It is not free and paid by consumer taxes in stores.

Transplant to Maui and Hawaii to complain. Maui is not the Mainland. Maui is not a retirement home for transplants. People live and work here and are not slaves to tourists and retired transplants.

You don’t pay enough taxes to be rude to anyone on Maui. I don’t see any complaints on drivers flying the American Flag.

If you own two houses in two states, you should be quiet, since IRS also reads The Maui News.
