Fifth Amendment protection for defendants ignored
I am often shocked at decisions and actions by Hawaii’s unelected judges. Rhonda Loo’s recent decision is more of the same. How do you become a lawyer, judge or prosecutor and not know about the Fifth Amendment? No one is required to give evidence against themselves, even if misguided prosecutors ask for it. I refer to the article about a man charged with a murder in Kihei long ago. It would also seem collecting DNA from someone can be done without permission. I could easily. Or does that point out how easily DNA could be planted or manipulated?
