Grateful for support, humbled by aloha

It has been a very intense few months since the COVID-19 pandemic reached our Maui community. Throughout this unprecedented situation, I’ve witnessed so many people working extremely hard to protect the communities they live and work in. This is the reason why most of us have remained protected.

There are so many dedicated people that have sacrificed their own personal comfort and well-being, worked diligently and tirelessly to keep us all safe. Too many to name without missing someone are the individuals I work and speak with who have provided me and my colleagues with their positive attitudes and support, boosting our confidence and helping us go through this difficult time together safely.

The vast majority of community, our health care and social service providers, first responders, businesses, schools, and most importantly, our families and the family and friends of COVID-positive cases, and COVID-positive cases themselves, have come together to support and assist one another.

I am so grateful for your support and humbled by the overwhelming expression of aloha that makes living on Maui so very special. A very sincere mahalo a nui loa to all of you.
