Parks playing catch-22 with pickleball request

My wife and I have been trying for over a year to have the county parks department paint permanent pickle lines at the Haiku Field House.

The parks department (Karla Peters, director) wanted to see if the numbers of pickle players was sufficient enough versus the number of basketball players. Ms. Peters then said she was going to post participation sheets every day to take a count.

After two months of posting, I contacted Ms. Peters as to what the results were. She claimed the results were “inconclusive,” but the county parks department is to this day still putting up the sign-up sheets.

What is the thinking of the parks department? They have new courts in Napili and Lahaina, and yet they can’t see the light for Upcountry? The parks director, in my opinion, is playing catch-22.
