KCA forum in July focuses on Legislature

We had a lot of positive feedback on our early candidate forum for county mayor.

Our next forum will feature candidates for the two state legislative seats for South Maui, where there are no incumbents, at 6:30 p.m. July 19.

Like the first forum, our membership meeting is totally devoted to the forum, which may be viewed on Facebook Live, even if you are not a KCA member nor have a Facebook account.

If you miss viewing it live the tape will be available on our website, www.gokihei .org/. And like all our forums, our focus is from a South Maui point of view.

For the state House candidates, this of course is their focus as well, but as the senatorial seat district expands up into West Maui too, it can be more challenging. Each candidate needs to be familiar with their entire district.

This will be our final forum before the Aug. 13 primary election, when we will know which of these state candidates moved ahead in their respective party to the general election on Nov. 8.

Before the general, KCA will host a forum on Sept. 20 for some county candidates.
