Remove beached boat to keep our children safe

We walk the Kaanapali beach path almost every day. I am amazed that since the first week in December there has been a beached sailboat at the Marriott.

I believe that it is not only an eyesore, but a danger to people.

Yesterday, I saw kids walking on top of it and going inside its hull. It is covered by sand, is slipping and has sharp metal and broken glass exposed.

Why hasn’t something been done to remove this danger in the last seven months?

There was obviously an owner; it was probably insured.

Someone needs to be held accountable to remove it.

The county, Marriott or some other authority should push to get this resolved in a timely manner. Don’t you think seven months is enough?

Let’s clean up our beach and keep our children safe.
