Baldwin's Jordan Hoiem is an All-American candidate

May 19, 2013 - Robert Collias
Here is the start of my story on Jordan Hoiem's nomination to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl:

WAILUKU - Jordan Hoiem missed most of Wednesday's assembly at Baldwin High School.

When his name was called - for the second time - he had made it to the gym for the end of the festivities.

It was certainly worth being present for the recognition he received.

Hoiem, a 6-foot-4, 218-pound junior linebacker who has verbally committed to Oregon, was announced as a nominee for next year's U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He is one of 400 nominees nationally and the only one from Hawaii.

"It's an honor to think that they are nominating me, a boy from Hawaii, Maui," he said. "It's really an honor, it's great."

And here is a a list of the nominees.
