Stars beat Na Koa, with, whattya know? Video

June 12, 2013 - Robert Collias
Tuesday night marked the end of Na Koa Ikaika Maui's winning seven-game winning streak, the end of Hawaii Stars' six-game losing streak, and a first-time sports video for The Maui News (just the first of many as we break new ground). Here is the beginning of my story:

WAILUKU - So much for Na Koa Ikaika Maui's seven-game winning streak.

After sweeping six games on the Big Island, Maui returned to Maehara Stadium and committed six errors, dropping an 8-3 decision to the Hawaii Stars in the seventh of 12 straight games between the two 50th state teams.

"We didn't play too clean at all," Maui manager Jeff Brooks said after the game in front of about 600 fans. "Ugly, ugly baseball. We just have to control the ball better. Slowly but surely we are getting better, but that is just uncalled for tonight."
