Sam Cyr fires 64, moves to 2nd in qualifying

October 24, 2013 - Robert Collias
Sam Cyr, a 2005 King kekaulike graduate, had a bogey, an eagle and seven birdies, including four in a row to finish, to move into second place after the third round of his first stage flight of Tour qualifying in St. Augustine, Fla., today.

Cyr's only bogey, on 11, was followed by an eagle on 12 as he posted a back-nine 30.

Cyr's 64 is tied with Roberto Diaz's round today for the lowest score in the St. Augustine flight.

Cyr is at 14-under 202, one shot behind T.J. Vogel and enters the final round of the event with a 12-stroke cushion on the final qualifying spot — 29 and ties move on — to advance to the second stage, which will be played at six different sites Nov. 19-22.

The final stage where cards for the Tour, one step below the PGA Tour, will be up for grabs is Dec. 12-17.
