Catching up with Renny Richmond at Pac-12 champs

University of Arizona freshman Renny Richmond, a Seabury Hall graduate, is done with his first Pac-12 Conference Swimming Championships.

Richmond's meet started with a spot on the Wildcats' C 200-yard medley relay team that finished 11th.

He was 14th in the 50-yard freestyle in a lifetime best 19.87 seconds, a B standard that could get him into the NCAA meet.

He swam the second leg on Arizona's A 200 free relay that finished third with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 1:17.65.

He was 12th in the 100 butterfly in 47.11 after a 46.99 preliminary time, both B standards.

Today, in his final swim, he just missed making the C final by finishing 26th in the 100 free in 44.60. His prelim seed time of 43.76 are NCAA B times.

The Wildcats stood third in the world-class meet going into today with 415 points, 130 behind leader California.

Arizona is ranked 12th in the nation and the NCAA meet is March 27-29 in Texas.
