Dakota Grossman: Enough said

June 29, 2014 - Robert Collias
Here is the start of my story on the all-time MIL state gold medalist and only three-time winner of The Maui News Girl MIL Athlete of the Year award:

"I want to be like Dakota." — Isabella Grossman, the 5-year-old sister of Dakota Grossman.

Dakota Grossman.

It is a name that will go down in Maui Interscholastic League lore.

With 10, she owns three more state individual titles than anyone else in MIL history.

With four, she is the second athlete in state history to win every state cross country meet for which she was eligible, and the only athlete to do it on three-mile courses.

With two, she is part of Seabury Hall's only state cross country team championships.

With one, she is a member of the lone MIL state track and field girls championship team, with lots of help from her friend and classmate Alyssa Bettendorf.
