Second game involving MIL football team called off
August 6, 2014 - Robert Collias
Here is a breaking news story I filed a few hours ago:
The Baldwin vs. Farrington high school football game scheduled for Saturday at War Memorial Stadium has been called off due to concerns about Hurricane Iselle, Baldwin officials told The Maui News this morning.
The game will not be made up, according to Baldwin Athletic Director Kahai Shishido.
On Tuesday, the Lahainaluna-Keaau game set for Friday at War Memorial was canceled.
A game between an all-star group from Alberta, Canada, and King Kekaulike is still set for a 7 p.m. Friday kickoff at King Kekaulike Stadium. That game could be moved to Saturday, if necessary - a decision is set to be made by midday Thursday, King Kekaulike AD P.K. Higa said Tuesday.
Kamehameha Maui's visit to Aloha Stadium on Saturday to play Iolani - the only other game involving a Maui Interscholastic League team this weekend - is still on, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
