Maui's loss in World Series opener, from the Bangor Daily News

It is a roundup with no quotes, but the lead is from Central East Maui's 5-1 loss to Dumfries, Va., in the opener for both in the Senior League World Series on Sunday in Bangor, Maine.

BANGOR, Maine — Twin brothers Michael and Matthew Nickles combined on a five-hitter to lead U.S. Southeast champ Dumfries, Virginia, by U.S. West champ Wailuku, Hawaii, 5-1 in the nightcap of the Senior League World Series opening round Sunday at Mansfield Stadium.
