Governor, Hirono to hold rally Saturday

Gov. Neil Abercrombie and U.S. Rep. Mazie Hirono, who is running for the U.S. Senate, will be appearing at a "Victory 2012 Grand Rally" from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday on the lawn of the Maui Tropical Plantation's Field of Dreams.

National Sierra Club President Allison Chun will accompany Hirono. All Democratic elected officials and candidates have been invited to the rally and will be on hand to talk story.

The free, family-style rally also will have entertainment by Iola Balubar's keiki hula dancers and singing by the Maui Cartoon Characters.

The public is invited to enter the Dozen Red, White and Blue cupcake contest, and there will be a fishing pond game and baseball toss, Kids Voting Booth, hot dogs, chips, sodas, frozen yogurt, popcorn, Halloween goodies and door prizes.
