Leoda's Kitchen & Pie Shop in tiny Olowalu will be baking up a storm of holiday delectables and you may place orders now.
"Pies are our signature, of course, and they're great for the holidays," says Executive Chef Sheldon Simeon, who runs the parent company's popular Star Noodle in Lahaina and is a competitor on the Bravo Channel's "Top Chef" this month.
"We offer sweet as well as savory versions in 3-inch handheld and 5-inch sizes. If you want to get a larger pie, you need to call us to place an order at least 24 hours ahead."
Cashier Heather Pascua sells pies and breads fresh out of the oven at the popular pit-stop in old Olowalu town.

The pie crusts come out golden and flaky, just like grandma used to make, done in the old-fashioned method with butter and lard.
"We make the crusts in house everyday," says Pastry Chef Shelly Taylor. "We form them by hand and they are awesome."
Choose from chocolate, banana or coconut cream pies and pecan, pumpkin, berry and chocolate with mac-nut and a layer of salty caramel. Yuzu-lemon pies also pop with tangy flavors.
"Of course, we'll have our key-lime pies and we'll do apple pies with double crusts. We're hoping to create a couple more but we're still in the planning stages for those."
Taylor will also roll out other desserts and breads such as rye, seasonal whole grain and "hapa" ( blend of white and wheat).
"Right now, we have caramel apples in the display cases," Taylor says. "We'll do pumpkin cheesecakes, cranberry almond bars, and pumpkin cake rolls with spice butter cream."
Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Leoda's will be open on Thanksgiving Day. Call 662-3600.
