Roy records second Elleair ace
Claudette Roy of Kihei recorded her second lifetime hole-in-one at Elleair Maui Golf Club in Kihei on Monday, acing the seventh hole.
Roy used an 11-wood for the 116-yard shot, which was witnessed by Claremont Roy and Raymond Rutherford.
Claudette Roy had also aced No. 12 at Elleair in November of 2012.
Volleyball team places 20th out of 244
Lanakila Volleyball Academy's 18-and-under girls team went 8-2 and finished in 20th place out of 244 teams in the 18 Club Division at the Southern California Volleyball Association's Las Vegas Classic, which took place Feb. 16-18.
The team comprised Ne'ula Aarona, Danielle Brown, Sienna Davis, Gabriela Cordoba, Pakalana Helekahi, Tricia Kama, Leimana Kane, U'i Kepani, Ku'ulei Wasserman, Emma Pilotin, Kayla Uyesugi, Olivia Wallace and Emma Yen.
Napili Canoe Club registration on April 6
Napili Canoe Club will conduct registration on April 6, starting at 10 a.m., at its hale at Hanaka'o'o (Canoe) Beach Park in Lahaina.
Practices will be at 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Basketball clinic slated for April 7
Grayson Boucher, who has made multiple appearances in And1 basketball videos, will conduct a free clinic at Seabury Hall's Erdman Athletic Center in Olinda on April 7.
Instruction is scheduled for 3-5 p.m. for youths 7-12, and 7-9 p.m. for youths 13-18. Participants should bring their own basketball. Parents and coaches can also attend.

Youth basketball league accepting applications
The Maui Youth Basketball League will accept applications for its summer league, for boys and girls ages 6-15, on a first-come, first-served basis until April 28.
All teams will be in the Central Maui area, and games will run from June 9 to July 14.
The fee is $20. Applications are available at Sports Authority in the Maui Marketplace in Kahului and Maui Sporting Goods in Wailuku, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.

Wheelchair tennis program expanded
The Maui County Department of Parks and Recreation announced that it has received a grant from the U.S. Tennis Association for $1,410 that will fund expansion of wheelchair tennis to the Hana community.
A program will be offered in the spring and summer for participants of all abilities, and all-sport adaptive "quickie" wheelchairs will be provided by the department. Instructors will also be available as scheduling and time allow.

USTA adult league matches begin April 28
A U.S. Tennis Association adult league is scheduled for April 28 to July 13 on Maui.
Players in the league, for men and women, must be at least 18 by the end of the year.
