Paia Contemporary Gallery will host a reception for Swiss sculptor Jean Paul Blais and mixed media artist Udo Noger from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. The show runs through Aug. 3.
The formation of Blais' abstract wall sculpture collection began in 2010, and Paia Contemporary Gallery will be introducing his work for the first time in the United States, according to gallery owner Alejandro Goya.
Noger's abstract contemporary paintings have been featured in public collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and The Art Insitute of Chicago, plus the private collections of Elton John, Bruce Springsteen Halle Berry and others.

Village Galleries welcomes Australia-based artists Ian Tremewen and Lorraine Abernethy to Maui with an exhibition of their recent work, showing now through Aug. 8 at the gallery, located at 120 Dickenson St. in Lahaina.
Abstract artist Tremewen has worked with the Village Galleries since the mid 1970s, while artist and educator Abernethy is joining the gallery for the first time.
