Maui Hands Gallery will host the following artists at its locations throughout Maui.
Maui pastel artist Kathleen O'Bryan will appear from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays in August at the Paia gallery, located at 84 Hana Hwy., then again from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays in August at the Makawao gallery, 1169 Makawao Ave.
O'Bryan has worked as a professional fine artist for more than 35 years, participating in solo, group and juried exhibitions in locations including Santa Fe, New Mexico and Maui.
Photographers Monica and Michael Sweet will display their work (examples above) Fridays in August at Maui Hands in Lahaina.

Comfortable diving, snorkeling, and kayaking, the couple strives to get close and capture the rare fleeting moments of Hawaii and its environment.
Claire Blahnik will appear from noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 and 16; and from 11 a.m. .to 3 p.m. Aug. 24 and 31 at the Paia gallery.
Blahnik describes herself as an avid beachgoer whose paintings capture the essence of the places she has surfed, swam and played.

Ellen Levinsky and Joan Mercer will be featured through Aug. 22 at Maui Crafts Guild in Paia. Levinsky uses natural bird feathers to create jewelry and art on her hand-made recycled paper. Using flowers from her own garden, Mercer has developed a process to press and preserve their delicate beauty creating jewelry, mobiles, and pictures with them.

Danny Braddix Jr. has spent 24 years capturing the islands' lush forests and waterfalls in acrylic landscape and floral paintings. His art will be featured from Monday to Sept. 5 at Lahaina Arts Society's Banyan Tree Gallery.

Enter Maui Ocean Center's third annual "I Love Marine Life" photo contest for the chance to win a year membership to the Maui Ocean Center and a photo eco tour with Photo Safari Hawaii.
