Westin Maui Resort & Spa will put the Valentine’s Day sizzle on with heart-shaped burgers at Relish Burger Bistro.
Like some red-hot live music with your Valentine's Day feast? Anuhea will perform not one, but two shows at Stella Blues Cafe at Azeka Mauka in Kihei.
Seating for the first show is 5 p.m., and chefs will present a four-course dinner. Choose from prosciutto bruschetta with strawberries; or spinach salad with mac nuts and green apples. Entree options are seared fresh fish with lavender rice pilaf and asparagus, finished with a vanilla-mint beurre blanc and mango chutney; or New York steak medallions served with rosemary-parmesan mashed potatoes, asparagus and blueberry-port demi glaze. Cost for the dinner and show is $60 per person.
The second show starts at 8 p.m. Cost is $30 per person. A limited menu of Tahitian-style ceviche, classic Caesar, yellow curry, steak, fish and chocolate molten cupcakes will be available. Call 874-3779.
Everyone is talking about the Sea of Love dinner, which makes a splash every Valentine's Day from 6 to 8 p.m. at Maui Ocean Center's Seascape Ma'alaea Restaurant. Cost of $119 per person includes a glass of champagne and lei for the ladies. The best part is, you may walk hand in hand with your sweetie through the aquarium.
Begin with the shared Lover's Platter of premium-grade ahi sashimi, Pacific oysters with mignonette; and sushi roll with lobster, crab and avocado. Cupid's Salad of baby-leaf spinach with Kula strawberries follows.
Entree choices are baked fresh island fish with crab and champagne cream; broiled lobster tail and filet mignon with mushroom brandy; mac-nut chicken breast in truffle cream with grilled shrimp; or wild mushroom ravioli. Tucked away in Kihei Research & Technology Park in the shiny, black Premier Place building, Cafe Carmen will open its doors at 5:30 p.m. for a special three-course feast for $50 per person.
The amorous repast includes a glass of champagne, and guitarist-singer Moku will launch his act Valentine's night. Starters are lobster bisque, roasted beet salad or couscous with local veggies and mint vinaigrette.
Entree choices are coffee-and-spice dusted beef petit filet in orange-bourbon reduction; pan-seared ahi in truffle-dashi broth; or portobello mushroom ravioli in sage brown butter. For dessert, enjoy a sampler of bread pudding, panna cotta with passion fruit and coffee creme brulee. For reservations, call 875-8100.
Three's Bar & Grill at Kihei Kalama Village in Kihei will present a sexy four-course meal for $45 per person.
Begin with an oyster sampler, crab cakes or pork quesadilla followed by either ocean salad or crisp Caesar. Entrees are seared ahi, macadamia-nut chicken, carved New York steak or fresh island fish. Dessert is chef's choice. The regular menu will also be available.
In addition, you may sip three glasses of sparkling wine for $15, including Spanish cava rose, prosecco and bubbly from California. On a budget? Valentine's Day happy hour runs from 3 to 6 p.m. in the restaurant's Surf Lounge. Call Three's at 879-3133.
It's a mouthful, no matter how you say it, but Grand Wailea's Humuhumunukunukuapua'a restaurant sets a romantic stage from its oceanfront setting in the center of a saltwater lagoon.
Chef de Cuisine Mike Lofaro will woo you with a three- course menu of sunchoke and potato broth soup with Osetra caviar and creme fraiche; or pan-roasted Kona lobster, for starters. Entree options are porcini-dusted hapu'upuu (fresh Hawaiian sea bass) or Niman Ranch filet mignon with foie gras. Dessert is a fun chocolate tasting for two. Cost is $84 per person.
Grand Wailea's Bistro Molokini will also entice with its three-course menu. Highlights are truffled crab ramen, filet Oscar style and caramel Kumu Farms banana panna cotta. Cost is $65 per person.
In addition, Alan Wong's Amasia at the Grand will tempt with a four-course lover's meal for $95 per person. Start with a complimentary amuse of cheese and crackers. Then savor soup and sandwich or baby Romaine Caesar, followed by black crab fritter or hirame sashimi. For entrees, sink your teeth into petit Wagyu steak with black truffle potatoes or shellfish bowl. Desserts are coco puffs with salted caramel, local goat cheese jelly roll or Da Coconut. Located oceanfront at the Four Seasons Resort Maui in Wailea, Ferraro's Bar e Ristorante was just named one of Open Table's "Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in the United States."
Play footsies under the table with the full moon shining above as you dine on the three-course special menu for $65 per person. Start with fresh oysters (a known aphrodisiac) with red-wine mignonette; or ahi crudo with black sea salt and extra virgin olive oil.
The frutti di mare seafood linguine is lovingly laced with mussels, clams, shrimp, calamari and white fish in spicy tomato sauce. Dessert is passion tiramisu with fresh Kula strawberries and white-chocolate crisp.
Four Seasons will also offer a special three-course menu at DUO Steak and Seafood, in addition to its regular dishes. Begin with the trio of market-fresh oysters baked with bacon and creamed spinach; or citrus quinoa salad with chilled Kona lobster.
Entree choices are blue-cheese herb crusted Brant Farms tenderloin with Buffalo Trace whiskey peppercorn glace or pan-roasted Pacific sea bass with champagne caviar beurre blanc. One of Maui's newest kids on the block, Saltimbocca, offers Italian gastronomy at its finest in the former Waterfront location in Maalaea.
Owner Jim Bateman says that since the restaurant is so new, he'll simply serve the regular a la carte menu so diners may pick and choose. For lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., he offers a three-course Italian soup, salad and entree repast for just $18 per person.
Happy hour kicks in from 2 to 5 p.m., then dinner will be served from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Ignite passions with drinks such as the Honey, Honey and The Hot Blonde. Then pick things up with lobster tagliatelle with fresh lobster meat; along with salads of insalata mista, or roasted beets with spinach and gorgonzola cheese.
The signature entree is saltimbocca: pounded veal with prosciutto and sage, white wine, eggplant, roasted potatoes and ratatouille. Call 243-DINE.
Watch the sunset and the full moon from your perch at Rita's Steak and Fish House upstairs in Kihei Kalama Village. Owner Steve Warsh says they will serve a prime filet mignon and lobster tail combo he's calling the Loving Couple and it includes a free dessert. Sarento's on the Beach is another spot with stellar views of the ocean along Keawakapu in Kihei. Breakfast is from 7 to 11 a.m., and it will be love at first bite with French crepes with fresh berries, Tahitian vanilla-bean pastry cream and champagne-peach sauce; and loco moco with grilled filet mignon meat loaf.
Valentine's Day dinner will open early at 4:30 p.m. with three-course menus with numerous options. Dedicating the month of February to couples, Chef Jen Evetushick will also present a heart-shaped burger with hand-crafted ground chicken flavored with garlic, ginger, cilantro and green onion; topped with smoked red onion, ricotta salata, and pomegranate aioli.

Oh-la-la! Nothing is more amorous than a tete-a-tete over a French feast cooked with island ingredients. Gerard's at the Plantation Inn in Lahaina will pamper you with gourmet cuisine and intimate ambience.
From Gascony, French chef-owner Gerard Reversade will have you falling in love with his four-course menu. His signatures include Hamakua mushrooms in puff pastry, ahi tartare with taro chips, lobster bisque, locally-caught island snapper with orange-ginger emulsion and confit of duck.
