Grand Wailea's new Seaside Cinema Music Cafe & Sunset Lounge will screen five of this summer's most buzzworthy films June 4 to 8 as part of the Maui Film Festival at Wailea.
"Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon," a film directed by Mike Meyers about Maui's own legendary entertainment and culinary manager, will screen at 8 opening night on Wednesday, June 4. Preceeding it will be a Maverick Award Tribute to Gordon, who is getting rave reviews for the film.
Seaside Cinema will also present "Begin Again" on Thursday, June 5. Directed by John Carney ("Once"), it stars Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo and Adam Levine. "Tracks" screens on Friday, June 6. Directed by John Curran, it stars Mia Wasikowska and Adam Driver. "The Grand Seduction" follows on Saturday, June 7. Directed by Don McKellar, it stars Brendan Gleeson and Taylor Kitsch. "Cuban Fury" screens on June 8 with direction by James Griffiths. It stars Nick Frost, Chris O'Dowd and Rashida Jones.
Seaside Cinema will debut oceanfront at Grand Wailea during Maui Film Festival June 4 to 8 with lots of complimentary chairs and parking. Beer, wine, food and cocktails will be sold.
Complimentary valet parking is included, courtesy of Grand Wailea, which will offer special dinner-and-a show packages at Humuhumunukunukuapua'a and Bistro Molokini, as well as individual box dinners for purchase at the venue.
The Seaside Cinema is open to all, and comfortable chairs will be provided. Those 21and older may buy cocktails, beer and wine. For a limited time, special Seaside Cinema 2-Film VIP Passes are available. Each $80 pass includes two admissions with live music prior to films as well as tributes.
