Thompson Ranch in Kula will host its 22nd annual Saddle Up Trail Ride to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. May 31.
The ride will be from Thompson Road corrals, across Haleakala Ranch, to Ulupalakua Ranch and back. A local ranch-style lunch will be served at the D.T. Fleming Arboretum at Pu'u Mahoe.
The cost is $100 per person. Riders are encouraged to seek sponsorship donations to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The Saddle Up Trail Ride travels to the D. T. Fleming Arboretum within the Pu‘u Mahoe cinder cone on Ulupalakua Ranch for a local ranch-style lunch, door prizes and awards while horses rest.
Organizers expect 75 to 100 riders to generate up to $25,000 for the hospital. Sponsor forms are available at Morihara Store in Kula, Wai Ulu Farms feed store in Pukalani, and Del's Farm Supply and Maui Feed Farm Supplies, both in Kahului.
Riders are asked to check in with their own horses at the corral on Thompson Road between 7 and 8 a.m. the day of the event.
Participants will receive a cap, hat pin, T-shirt, certificate and a chance to win door prizes.
The person raising the most money will be awarded a trophy belt buckle.
