Ngan, Munetake fall short at Asia Pacific Junior Cup

Maui’s Tyler Munetake and Justin Ngan were on losing teams for Team Hawaii on Monday during the second day of the Asia Pacific Junior Cup at the Waikoloa Beach Resort Kings’ Course on the Big Island.

Munetake of Wailuku and Kaci Masuda lost to Japan’s Yuwa Kosaihira and Aya Tamura 2 and 1 in their foursome match, while Ngan of Kahului and Zackary Kaneshiro fell to Ryukei Nakahashi and Naoki Sekito 2 up.

Japan holds a 13 1/2-2 1/2 lead on Team Hawaii.

Today’s final day will consist of singles matches.
