Chaves, Miguel, Dudoit complete sweeps in Idaho

Three wrestlers from Maui — Chelsey Chaves, Jahnea Miguel and Kayce Dudoit — completed championship sweeps of all three styles in the West Kids and Cadet Regional Championships wrestling tournament by claiming freestyle titles Wednesday in Pocatello, Idaho.

Chaves took first place at 117 pounds in the high school girls division, and Miguel claimed a title at 132.

Dudoit won at 70 pounds in the novice girls division.

Ira Navarro was the high school girls champion at 100 pounds — she also won a folkstyle title on Monday.

Tyeisha Takamori added a schoolgirls title at 128 to the Greco-Roman crown she won Tuesday.

Maui had six runners-up Wednesday — Tianna Fernandez (100), Nanea Estrella (122) and Siera Vida (180) in high school girls, Renele Andrion (105) and Jaki Kuaana (120) in schoolgirls and Clover Williams (77) in intermediate girls.

Finishing third were Ivy Navarro (high school girls 112), Kawehi Gillcoat (high school boys 132), Chance Rodrigues (high school boys 285), Zeff Dudoit (cadet boys 132) and Alexis Hayase (novice girls 63).

Martika English was fourth at 200 in high school girls, and Nalani Kirkman finished fifth at 105 in schoolgirls.
