Maui wrestlers add to title haul

Maui’s Chelsey Chaves, Jahnea Miguel and Kayce Dudoit each picked up their second title at the West Kids and Cadet Regional Championships wrestling tournament Tuesday in Pocatello, Idaho.
After winning titles in folkstyle Monday, the trio earned victories in Greco-Roman. Chaves won at 117 pounds and Miguel at 132 in the high school girls division, and Dudoit won at 70 novice girls.
Also winning Greco-Roman titles were Ivy Navarro (112 high school girls) and Tyeisha Takamori (128 schoolgirls) –both Navarro and Takamori had runner-up finishes in folkstyle.
Tuesday’s second-place finishers included Alexis Hayase (70 novice girls), Renele Andrion (105 schoolgirls), Jaki Kuaana (120 schoolgirls), Ira Navarro (100 high school girls), Siera Vida (180 high school girls) and Chance Rodrigues (285 high school boys).
Third-place finishers were Clover Williams (77 intermediate girls), Jahlia Miguel (85 novice girls), Tianna Fernandez (100 high school girls), Nanea Estrella (122 high school girls), Waipuilani Beauchamp (127 high school girls) and Martika English (200 high school girls).
Lydia Dudoit (113 schoolgirls), Emma DeBrum (127 high school girls), Mikala Basques (132 high school girls), Fayannie Rosario (138 high school girls) and Benjamin Tokanang (220 cadet boys) earned fourth-place finishes, and Nalani Kirkman (105 schoolgirls) placed fifth.
The competition continues today.
