Tyler Munetake of Wailuku was eliminated from the Manoa Cup in the semifinal round Friday, losing 3 and 1 to Honolulu’s Evan Kawai at Oahu Country Club.

The sixth-seeded Munetake never led in the match, and bowed out when the 10th-seeded Kawai birdied the 17th hole.

Kawai will face No. 5 Andy Okita today in the title match of the Hawaii State Golf Association amateur championship.

Earlier in the day, Munetake — a Baldwin High School graduate who now plays for Gonzaga — defeated third-seeded Tyler Ota of Honolulu 1 up.
