Tamaki sinks ace at Maui Nui Golf Club

Kanako Tamaki of Kihei hit a hole-in-one on the 108-yard third hole at Maui Nui Golf Club in Kihei on Monday.

Tamaki used an 8 iron for the shot. Witnesses were Marti Bonelli, Janice Teruya and Candy Tom.

Youth tennis classes to begin Wednesday

The USTA Play to Learn youth tennis program’s first fall session will begin on Wednesday at the Eddie Tam courts in Makawao.

Classes will be held each Wednesday for six weeks for beginners and advance beginners from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. for children ages 12-14, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for 6-8 and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for 9-11.

The fee is $5 for each hour-long session. Racquets and balls will be provided.
