Running for the Whales

Runners take off from the starting line to begin the Pacific Whale Foundation’s Run and Walk for Whales on Saturday morning at the Maui Harbor Shops in Maalaea. The event included 10- and 5-kilometer races, as well as 10- and 1-mile courses.

SECOND PHOTO: U.S. Coast Guard Lt. J.P. Botti makes the final turn on his way to winning the men’s 10K. Botti, who is stationed on Maui, finished in a time of 38 minutes, 2 seconds.
