Seabury girls, boys power to 5-0 wins over King Kekaulike

The Seabury Hall boys and girls tennis teams each picked up 5-0 wins over King Kekaulike on Friday afternoon in Kula.

Nikki Fernando, Alexa de Crinis and Stephani Peterson each posted 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles matches as the Spartan girls improved to 2-1 in Maui Interscholastic League East Division play.

The Seabury boys, meanwhile, didn’t drop a set during their victory, though both doubles matches took extra games. The Spartan team of Zack Walker and Jacob Keyser defeated King Kekaulike’s Rielyn Domingo and Kai Frostad 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1, while Seabury’s Bear Barnard and Branden Nishimoto downed Na Alii’s Ryan Siarot and Thorren Rebugio 7-5, 6-4.

The King Kekaulike girls fell to 0-3 this season, while the boys fell to 1-2.
