Lunas advance to MIL water polo semifinals

Dakota Delos Reyes scored four goals to lead the Lahainaluna High School girls water polo team to an 8-2 win over Kamehameha Maui in the first round of the Maui Interscholastic League tournament Thursday at Kihei Aquatic Center.

Maile Cacal had two goals, and Puliki Rogers and Ryli Cherry also scored for the third-seeded Lunas (7-4), who will face No. 2 King Kekaulike in the semifinals today.

The Warriors (0-11) got goals from Labryana Hookano and Jaqui Barandon.

The other semifinal today will pit top-seeded Baldwin against No. 5 Seabury Hall, which advanced with a 10-7 win over No. 4 Maui High.

Bella Otterson had five goals to lead the Spartans (4-7). Aryana Johnson added two goals, and Chloe LoGrande, Evan Elsasser and Madi Eiting also scored for Seabury.

The Sabers (4-7) got three goals from Caroline Short, two from Kylie Robinson, and one apiece from Ashlyn Robinson and Karina Lynch.
