Three players from Maui High School were named to the All-American teams, one in Olympic Rugby 7s and two in Rugby XVs. Three selections in one season is a record for Maui Rugby.

Mitchell Hirose, who recently graduated from Maui High and is headed to play rugby at Central Washington University, has been selected for the USA Rugby High School All-American Rugby 7s team after leading the Kahului Warriors to an undefeated season as the team’s scrum half and leading scorer.

Mason MacDonald, also a 2019 Maui High graduate who is heading off to study and play rugby at Brigham Young University in Utah, was selected to play hooker/wing for the USA Rugby HSSA XVs.

Sione Lolohea

Sione Lolohea, who recently completed his junior year at Maui High, was selected to play fly half/forward for the USA Rugby HSAA XVs.

Hirose will be traveling to Toronto in July for an international tournament. MacDonald and Lolohea will travel to Vancouver, British Columbia, to compete in the first round of qualification for the Junior World Championships.
