Molokai Holokai Hoolaulea scheduled for June 29-30

The Molokai Holokai Hoolaulea is set for June 29-30 on Molokai.
The festivities include two paddle races.
The Maui Jim’s Maui 2 Molokai Challenge begins with the first waves of competitors leaving D.T. Fleming Beach in Kapalua at 8:30 a.m. on June 29. The 27-mile course across the Pailolo Channel will bring paddlers to Kaunakakai, with first finishers expected to finish between noon and 1 p.m.
On June 30, the Molokai Holokai Kamalo Run starts at 12:30 p.m. at Kamalo Harbor. The course for SUP and OC paddlers is 10 miles to the Molokai Community Health Center, while the beginners course is 5 miles. There is also a special paddle from Mowat’s homestead to the Health Center that is free and open to all Molokai keiki.
There will also be beach and mangrove cleanups from 9 a.m. to noon on June 29. Entertainment follows the races each day.

Last-minute Molokai sign-ups will be held at Paddlers Inn from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on June 27 for the Maui 2 Molokai race, and on June 29 for the Kamalo Run.
