Na Alii sweep Sabers, improve to 6-0

The defending Maui Interscholastic League Division I champion King Kekaulike High School girls volleyball team swept past Maui High at Na Alii’s gym on Thursday night, 25-11, 25-12, 25-18.

Eva Rueter led the way for Na Alii (6-0) with 10 kills, while Nanna Inoue added 20 digs and four aces, Tamiko Tanaka had 10 digs and four aces, and Lauren Albrecht dished out 33 assists to go along with eight digs and six aces.

No statistics were reported for Maui High (0-7).

Maui Prep 3, St. Anthony 2

At Lahainaluna gym, Na Pueo (1-6) won their first match of the season, 25-13, 25-16, 20-25, 22-25, 15-12 over the Trojans (0-7).

Keana Villamar led Maui Prep with eight aces, five kills and 19 digs. Emma Geng had seven kills and seven aces, Sydney Snyder had six kills and five aces, and Jolene Munch added six kills, five aces and 14 assists.

No statistics were reported for the Trojans.
