Top teams keep on winning in MIL bowling

The Kamehameha Schools Maui girls and King Kekaulike boys bowling teams solidified their spots atop the Maui Interscholastic League standings with victories Saturday at Maui Bowling Center.
The Warrior girls improved to 12-0 with a 3-0 victory over King Kekaulike.
Nadia Apo-Takayama posted a 180 and 155, Tahan Valdez bowled a 133 and Essence Nomura had a 132 to lead Kamehameha. Na Alii (0-12) got a 112 from Mahiole Austring.
The King Kekaulike boys defeated Kamehameha Maui 2-1 to move to 10-2.
Gavin Brittain had a match-best 211 along with a 163 to pace Na Alii. Trevor Onaga posted a 163 and 157, and Noah Decambra had a 140.
The Warriors (6-6) were led by Josiah Kaluau-Shimada (193), Bryson Reformina (163) and Kahiau Carino (163).
On Sunday night, the Baldwin boys and Maui High girls picked up 2-1 wins.
The Bear boys (8-4) were led by Jarin Tateishi, who bowled a 165. Kainalu Torres-Estores had a 161 and C.J. Keanini-Higa added a 157.
Zachary Domingo (147) and Cy Fernandez (144) had high games for the Sabers (6-6).
In the girls match, Kalena Hiranaga posted a 157 and Schuyler Barcoma-Suyat had a 139 for Maui High, which improved to 7-5.
Kalena Torres-Estores (154), Kaycee Takai (125) and Kirsten Medeiros (125) led the Bears (7-5).
