For the second straight week, a pair of University of Hawaii student-athletes have picked up Player of the Week honors in their conferences.

Rainbow Warriors wide receiver JoJo Ward was tabbed as the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week on Monday following his four-touchdown performance in UH’s 31-28 win over Oregon State on Saturday. The senior from Waco, Texas, set career highs in receptions (10), receiving yards (189) and TD catches.

Ward’s award follows that of teammate Cedric Byrd II the week before.

Also on Monday, Hawaii women’s volleyball player Skylar Williams was named the Big West Defensive Player of the Week.

The junior middle helped lead the Rainbow Wahine to wins over Army, Sacramento State and Denver in the Heineken Rainbow Wahine Invitational. Williams was named the tournament MVP having posted 32 kills and 12 blocks.

Last week, teammate Jolie Rasmussen was named the BWC Player of the Week.

After improving to 6-0, the Rainbow Wahine jumped two spots to No. 18 in the AVCA coaches poll.
