Haleakala Waldorf edges Pine Lasses in five sets

The Haleakala Waldorf School girls volleyball team scored the final four points of the match to defeat Lanai 19-25, 25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 15-13 in a quarterfinal of the Maui Interscholastic League Division II tournament on Wednesday night at the Erdman Athletic Center in Olinda.

The Hawks (6-7) will face top-seeded Seabury Hall today in the semifinals. Lanai’s season ended at 5-8.

Statisticians for Haleakala Waldorf credited Mileina Sniffen with 60 digs, eight assists and five aces. Jade Borchers had 14 kills, 13 digs and two aces, Sam Spork had 31 digs, 23 assists and four kills, and Izabelle Palmore had 10 kills, 18 digs and an ace.

Lanai did not keep stats in the match.
